Dublin the Capital of the Republic of Ireland


Dublin the capital of the Republic of Ireland is a city that has an exciting nightlife and lots of tourist attractions. It is divided by the River Liffey. The main thoroughfare O’Connell Street is intersected by lots of shopping streets. On the south side you’ll find different tourist attractions.
Dublin Writers Museum is housed in an 18th century house and is a museum which is dedicated to Irish literature and the lives of Irish writers like Shaw, Joyce, Yeats and Pearse.
Dublin Zoo is located in Phoenix Park and is the largest in Ireland. It is noted for its wildlife conservation efforts.
Dublinia and the Viking World located in central Dublin is a heritage centre at the heart of the medieval city. Exhibitions show life as it was in the medieval city and the world of the Vikings.
Glasnevin Cemetery which is found two miles from the city centre has walking tours. There are tours which show the final resting place of men and women who have helped shape Ireland’s past and present.
Irish Museum of Modern Art offers modern and contemporary art has a formal garden and café.
Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed urban parks in Europe. This is home to the Dublin Zoo. Situated in the park are the residences of the President of Ireland and the U.S. Ambassador but aren’t open to the public. The park is inhabited by a herd of wild fallow deer.
There are walking tours of Dublin available. Tours can last from one to four hours and include standard sightseeing tours, tours on themes like the paranormal and ghosts, music and song, literature, history and even Irish mythology.
